Halloween is a holiday that only recently became family friendly.  First, it was a more religious and/or superstitious belief about the dead that later evolved into a Prankster holiday.  This evolved into Trick-Or-Treating as we know it today.  So, before I get to your treat, here’s a video about Halloween.

Now, what better treat is there than free software.  There is not much better than accomplishing something you need your computer to do and doing it for free!  I am talking about IceCreamApps.

IceCream Apps offers free software for all to use, but have available upgrades to premium versions if needed.  The free versions have done me well so far.  IceCream Apps offers Windows 10 support.  They are one of the few freeware companies that actually advertise compatibility with Windows 10.  Currently, the company supports Windows computers and have started to roll out support for Mac computers.

From left to right in this picture, IceCream Apps offers:

• Slideshow Maker – A program that is great for combining your photos quickly into a slideshow worthy to show off.  Adding transitions and audio is easy enough to add that a two-finger typer can easily set up their show in minutes.  Once complete, the program even allows for quick uploading to Youtube to show off.
• Image Resizer – A very quick and powerful program to do just what the name says.  Sometimes dragging your image can distort it’s quality.  You can point and click edit image sizes to needed presets for facebook or preserve
• E-Book Reader – This handy EPUB reader will allow you to read and manage your collection of books.  My personal favorite features that set this apart is the night mode and book mode feature.  Some e-readers will take your book or pdf and still show the program.  These features make it a much more comfortable and book-like experience.
• Screen Recorder – This program allows you to highlight an area of your screen as a picture or video file.  It will then capture anything in that zone and save the file to your computer for anything you may need to do.  You can capture anything you need to, like a how-to for your less savvy family members or a clip of the game you may be playing.  The program keeps an easy to use history and allows you to draw on the screen or even add your personal watermark.  You can also add your webcam for a personal touch to your videos or adjust the video quality so the file size isn’t quite so large.  The settings in this will also allow you to control volumes, hide your cursor, disable your screen saver, and even hide your desktop icons.  There is a PRO version to get rid of some of the restrictions in the free version.
• PDF Split & Merge – A speedy program that allows you to combine and cut up PDF documents.  Some of the features of this program are in the PDF converter.  However, if you want something that does it’s job, then this is your go-to tool.  This is IceCream’s first Mac supported product and there is a PRO version for this tool if you want the upgrade.
• PDF Converter – A program that allows you to convert just about anything to or from a PDF.  This converter can also allow you to merge multiple formats into one easy to use document.  This software is so powerful, it allows for multiple conversions in bulk in multiple formats.  There is also a PRO version for more features.
