PushBullet: A Productivity Powerhouse

How many times have you been sidetracked from your important project or paper by a some group text?  Just generally, how many times a day do you look at your phone.

PushBullet is your new productivity powerhouse.  It takes the distraction of looking at your phone away from the projects you are working on.  All the notifications that come into your phone now get pushed to your laptop or tablet.

To be clear, PushBullet isn’t only displaying your texts.  PushBullet keeps your phone and other devices completely connected.  You get a heads up on any notification that comes to your phone.  Weather, texts, picture messages, RSS feed updates, or whatever else you may have.  As they come in, you can mute the notifications you don’t care about seeing.  This makes PushBullet smarter as it goes.  PushBullet also gives the feature of a universal copy paste.  That means if you are looking at a web page on your computer or a part in a paper you want to text to someone, just hit copy on the highlighted text on your computer and go to your phone and hit paste and whatever info you had is transferred.

PushBullet can also be used to transfer files between devices.  Once PushBullet is downloaded, it is as simple as a right click to send a file to a device or friend.  The downside here is a limit on file size.  If you would like to have that limit increased, you can do so by a referral.  If you don’t know anyone with PushBullet, then email us via the contact page before you sign up and we will be happy to send you a referral email to the service.  This will benefit us and you.

Pushbullet is available for all of your devices.  They have browser extensions for whatever web browser you may be using.  However, I would recommend the full application.  The full application seems to give a little better control and seems to work a little smoother for me.

You can sign up for free at PushBullet.com or via Google Play or the App Store.
