I stumbled across Sesame and in my eyes it may be the best smart lock to come to market.

Why?

Sesame is a smart lock that you can use at any home.  It uses 3m tape that is super strong to stick over your existing lock.  That means no damage to your door and no angering your landlords.  It is just home protection and entry made simple.

It uses bluetooth and WiFi to connect to your home network and stays at the ready.  There are many ways you can program Sesame as well.  You can unlock it with a push of a button, a secret knock, your Smart watch, voice commands…. the possibilities go on and on.  They are even making their software open source so people can develop more as they go.  I don’t know about you, but I cannot tell you how many times I have went back and checked the door thinking I forgot to lock it.  No more!

Sesame also comes in a variety of colors to match your decor and can be ordered with its own access point.

Still not convinced?

Many lower end smart locks are hackable.  Meaning someone can break into it and gain access to your house. While nothing is perfect and people could still just break down the door.  This lock has better than bank grade encryption and also can send alerts to your phone when someone is trying to get in.

It boasts a 500 day max battery life and can still be operated manually and with a key so you will never be fully locked out.  You can also activate or deny your friends access.

They are fully funded on Kickstarter and have about a week left.  You should definitely check out some of their other videos just to show some other applications and features if you are at all interested.  One girl even puts Sesame on her stove to make sure she doesn’t burn her meal.
