Podo or no go?

So recently a Kickstarter got started for a product called Podo.  Some of you still don’t know what Kickstarter is.  Briefly,  it is people looking to get funding for their product or idea and they give special perks for helping them reach the dream.

Now,  moving to Podo. Podo is completely funded and is therefore going to be a product.  Everything past this point is just icing on the cake and special bonuses.

What is podo?   It is a small 8mp camera with a sticky back.   It sticks to virtually any flat surface and has a hinge to angle the camera for better shots.  Podo can be programmed on a time delay and take one photo or take many over the course of an evening.  Want to take photos of your next function but don’t want the hassle of actually ruining the moment and getting out the camera? Stick podo to a table in front of the birthday person and set a timer to capture the whole evening.  Set it on a wall and angle it down to take selfies for your Facebook or to send to your special someone.

You can set it up on a timer that will last about a week taking photos for you. It has an 8 LED flash. All wrapped in a package that is smaller than 2 tic tac boxes stacked together.

The Podo can take 15 second video clips and even make GIFs.  For some more technical idea of the video you can take, Podo shoots 720p 30fps video at roughly 2 hours of video recording time.

Podo works via Bluetooth and sends photos to your phone for storage and later use.

Why is it the selfie stick killer? Let’s be honest… the selfie stick kills itself. You look dumb carrying this pole everywhere. It is big and bulky and not easy to bring with you. It is definitely not set and forget.

Podo fits in your pocket. Bring it on your next vacation and avoid trying to tell strangers how your phone or camera works in order to take a family picture.

Podo has just under 2 weeks left on its kickstarter if you want to snag one for an early pre-order.  After that they will become available through Podo’s online store.
